Old Stuff

I found some of my old portfolio pieces and decided they might be worth a post. A lot of this stuff is old but still interesting and helpful in terms of showing progress. It also allows me to upload more physical stuff, as I'm often too lazy to go do scans/get pics of everything.

Now the scratchboard below is probably the one I'm most proud of in the bunch...it's my second pass at scratchboarding and my first at crosshatching on a major project. The damn thing took forever, but I had a lot of fun and a good playlist lined up to listen to so it was all worthwhile.

Reason I point out the scratchboard is that I'm doing another one now, hopefully to be finished before I head off to college. It'll be my first done without reference, so it should be interesting.
The scratchboard of Winged Victory of Samothrace

Done two years ago as a hands study art project.

Done last summer for portfolio prep. The metal was hard to draw accurately but really neat.

Here we go!

Goal for 'in-game graphics' on our project, Dreamer.
Title study for Dreamer.
Alrighty, so I've decided to start up a blog as I approach college in hopes of documenting my progress on the road to become a concept artist. I'll use this blog to post updates of art, life and anything else I think deserves mention. At the moment, I'm just doing idle sketches and work for a project I'm working on with a few friends we're calling Dreamer (FB to our 'team':https://www.facebook.com/Undrbelly)

Other than that, I'm simply preparing for college. As that begins and I find the time, I'll try to update this blog ever so often with posts of sketches, Dreamer work I can make public, and anything else that looks pretty enough to show. Till then, I'll leave you guys with this Dreamer stuff and a link to my dA account, Sir-Spiffy, which is also going to be updated with a lot of the images I'll be putting here.
